For more than two decades, Studio Eight has made art, solved problems, built objects, shaped environments, and followed good ideas wherever they happened to lead.

Our work has moved comfortably between fine art, photography, sculpture, design, architecture, furniture, objects, and projects that never fit neatly into a category. The materials have changed. The scale has changed. The questions have changed. What has remained constant is curiosity, craft, and the belief that a difficult problem is often where the interesting work begins.

Along the way, we have been fortunate to work with people, companies, institutions, museums, and publications whose trust has allowed us to attempt things we might never have imagined on our own.

Those relationships—and the stories behind them—are as much a part of Studio Eight as the work itself.

SHARKS IN THE MOONLIGHT

Some projects begin with a brief. Others begin with a plane ticket, a conversation, a sketch on a napkin, or a problem no one quite knows how to name.
Studio Eight has worked across the United States and internationally, following ideas through studios, workshops, galleries, homes, public spaces, and places that rarely appear on a conventional design itinerary.
The work has crossed disciplines as easily as it has crossed borders. Art, photography, objects, environments, communications, and the occasional impossible request have all found their way through our hands.
We have never been especially interested in staying inside the lines.
That is usually where the good stories begin.
DANCING WITH HURRICANES
Studio Eight has always been interested in difficult problems, unusual projects, and the places where art, design, and everyday life overlap.
Our work begins with listening, looking closely, and understanding what a project actually needs. From there, we bring together the right mix of ideas, materials, experience, and people to make something thoughtful, useful, and distinctly its own.
Sometimes the process is orderly. Sometimes it is closer to dancing with hurricanes. We have learned to be comfortable with both.
COMUNICAZIONE
We encourage emails, phone calls, and invitations to dinner and conversation.
