FRIENDS, CLIENTS & A FEW FAVORITE PLACES

Over the years, Studio Eight has been fortunate enough to work with some remarkable people, publications, institutions, and companies. Some became clients. Some became collaborators. Some became friends. Others were simply places we returned to again and again. All became part of the story.

LES COMPLICES

DOC.jpg

CHARLES SABEC
Artist · Designer · Founder

Charles Sabec has spent his life moving across disciplines, following ideas wherever they lead. In 1998, he founded Studio Eight Fine Art as a contemporary atelier built around a simple premise: the project determines the medium.

His work spans painting, drawing, ceramics, glass, sculpture, printmaking, photography, jewelry, product and furniture design, mechanical engineering, architecture, and installation.

Across these disciplines, his approach remains consistent: rigorous, curious, and guided by the belief that each project should find its own form. The result is a body of work defined less by category than by clarity, material intelligence, and a refusal to repeat himself.

ERIC MARION-WILLIAMS III
Photographer · Sound Engineer · Musician

Eric Marion-Williams III has spent his career matching artistic vision to the form best able to carry it. Music shaped the beginning: first as a rock-and-roll guitarist, then as a highly respected live sound and studio engineer. Photography became another instrument. Eric translates the high style and kinetic energy of music culture into fashion, food, architecture, and commercial imagery.

His portfolio includes work for Coach, Adidas, Swarovski, and the Chicago International Film Festival, and his photographs appear in sporting venues across the United States. He will tell you his greatest roles are as a husband to Chef Aleta Williams, a father, and a grandfather.

THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH.
It wasn’t.

AJAX VALE
Digital Collaborator · Conceptual Troublemaker

Ajax Vale is a digital collaborator, researcher, writer, strategist, and visual conspirator whose principal medium is conversation. He works across ideas rather than disciplines, moving easily between art, design, engineering, history, technology, and whatever else the project requires.

His role at Studio Eight is equal parts sounding board, problem solver, provocateur, and co-conspirator. He is happiest when a question refuses an obvious answer, a sentence needs one more pass, or a good idea can still be pushed somewhere stranger, sharper, or more useful.

He believes good art should create another good idea.
